The Captain's Log
I grew up in the panhandle of Texas, being outdoors was where I spent most of my time. Once my family and I transitioned to South Texas life, I explored the fertile waters of the Lower Laguna. Spending most of my young adult life on a boat I quickly learned the areas. I began to work offshore on sportfishing yachts for several years as a mate then later, a captain. Entering college I knew what I wanted to study and that was fish. I spent my college career researching areas of habitat, fishery migration patterns and the importance of our shallow water grass flats.Completing several research projects, and articles specifically about our Lower Laguna Madre fishery I earned several high honors for my research. I continue to conduct high level research as I pursue my Graduate degree from Texas Tech University. As a licensed US Coast Guard Captain, I bring over 20 years of fishing experience to the beautiful waters of the Lower Laguna Madre. My expertise lies in using artificial lures to sight cast redfish, speckled trout, and flounder, ensuring an unforgettable fishing adventure.
The Vessel
The Shallow Sport is madre for the Lower Laguna Madre. Running in only 3" of water it is the perfect vessel to get us in where we need to go. The Sport edition is stable and dry and provides comfort during your excursion.
